Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne will soon undergo surgery on his neck, and he recently shared his fears of going under the knife for the second time. He also admitted that his days on-stage performing may be done following the surgery.

While speaking to musician Billy Morrison on SiriusXM recently, the Prince of Darkness shared his candid thoughts on his upcoming operation. In 2019, Ozzy Osbourne had his first neck surgery after suffering a bad fall in his Los Angeles home. Following the operation, the Black Sabbath frontman said he “was in agony beyond anything I ever experienced before in my life.”

Now, Osbourne says he feels even worse two years after surgery. His fall caused the singer to re-injure his back, neck, shoulders, and supposedly dislodged metal rods in his body from previous injuries. He fears having the procedure once again could put an end to his touring and performing days.

“I now have a date for when I have my surgery on my neck,” Ozzy Osbourne said on SiriusXM. “[The surgeon] is not telling me that he can put me back to normal, which is no excuse. He says he can do this and that and do my back. The way it is now, I ain’t very encouraged, what if it gets worse?”

“They do that, the first guy said, ‘If you do not have this surgery you have got a good chance of being crippled for the rest of your life.’ So I came out of the surgery and this guy f–ked me up. Even top guys make mistakes. I am a bit gunshy after the first one,” he said of his first neck surgery.

“I am just hoping and praying that I can at least do a f–king show,” Osbourne admitted.

Ozzy Osbourne Shuts Down Possibility of Black Sabbath Reunion

It now seems as if Ozzy Osbourne’s touring days could be numbered. It’s unfortunate news for his fans, especially since he confirmed last year that there’s no possibility of a Black Sabbath reunion. While speaking with Rolling Stone, Osbourne shut down rumors of a possible reunion with his Black Sabbath bandmates.

In 2017, Black Sabbath performed for the last time on February 4 to finish out their famous The End Tour. After a world tour that trekked across North America, Europe, Australia, and South America, Black Sabbath finally said farewell to live shows and their legion of fans.

Fast forward to 2020, and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi spoke about possibly reuniting for more live shows. However, during his Rolling Stone interview, Ozzy Osbourne quickly put an end to the rumors.

“Not for me,” Ozzy Osbourne responded. “It’s done. The only thing I do regret is not doing the last farewell show in Birmingham with [drummer] Bill Ward. I felt really bad about that. It would have been so nice. I don’t know what the circumstances behind it were, but it would have been nice. I’ve talked to him a few times. But I don’t have any of the slightest interest in [doing another gig]. Maybe Tony’s getting bored.”
