Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne took to his Twitter account to share some professional snapshots that were taken prior to his 1989 concert in Chicago Illinois.
“July 12, 1989, before a concert at the then Poplar Creek Music Theatre outside Chicago, Illinois,” Ozzy reveals in the Twitter post, which features the former Black Sabbath bandmate rocking long brown hair and an all-black suit.
Ozzy Osbourne Discusses His Health Issues
In a 2020 interview with publication GQ, Ozzy Osbourne shared details about his health issues.
“The surgery I had knocked the crap out of me,” he states. Osbourne also explains that he broke his neck in a quad bike accident in 2003 and when it healed it squeezed his spinal column. So he was experiencing all kinds of things happening to him.
“Then one night 18 months ago, I went to the bathroom in the dark, and just hit the ground,” Ozzy recalls. He then says he called Sharon to the bathroom by stating he’s on the floor and her response was, “Well, get up then!” But he couldn’t.
Ozzy Osbourne also observes that his age has made him more fragile than ever.
“Once you’re 70, the floodgates open and everything goes down. Mind you, I’ve got away with it for a long time.”
In regards to how he’s been handling the COVID-19 pandemic, Ozzy reveals,
“I try my hardest. If I go out, I wear a mask. But I don’t like wearing a mask, so I don’t go out much.”
He also says that his album producer Andrew Watt had the virus and said he couldn’t sleep because the moment he’d try to fall asleep, he’d stop breathing. “He’s not the same person now. It’s like anyone who’s had a near-death experience: he’s become a bit careful with life.”
Ozzy then adds that his two granddaughters also caught it and didn’t experience any symptoms. “It just bounced off them.”
Ozzy Osbourne Talks Friendship With Elton John
Also during the interview with GQ, Ozzy Osbourne discusses his friendship with fellow musician Elton John. “Every single week, Elton John calls my wife,” Ozzy explains. “I’m not one to hang out with this one and that one, but he’s become a family friend.”
Ozzy Osbourne then reveals how Elton ended up on his 2020 album, Ordinary Man.
“When we did [the album], I said to Andrew [Watt] it reminded him of an Elton [John] song. He said, ‘Why not get him on it?’ I thought, ‘You can only ask.’” Ozzy says he only wanted him to play piano on it, but he sang as well.
Ozzy then refers to Elton as a workaholic. “Last time he was at the house, I asked what he’d been doing. He said he’d just played 40 shows in 40 days!” He was baffled by the idea of playing that many shows in a short period of time.
“How can you do that?! I’ve not done that kind of work since I was 19!”
