Thanks in part to his role as Brian O’Conner in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, Paul Walker became a beloved Hollywood star. When he passed away almost a decade ago, it came as a shock to his fans. More significantly, it was a very sad day for those who knew him personally and loved him.
Sunday, Sept. 12, would have been Paul Walker’s 48th birthday. So, Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, shared a very special memorial for her father on social media. “Happy birthday daddy, I love you,” Meadow shared on Instagram.
What makes her post so very sweet is the image she shared along with her caption. It’s an adorable photo of her with a youngster smiling happily alongside her handsome father. You can check it out below.
Unsurprisingly, Meadow’s post in memory of her father, Paul Walker, was very popular on Instagram. Less than a day after she shared it, the post had received more than 489,000 likes.
Paul Walker’s Career Gained Momentum During the Late 1990s
According to IMDb, Paul Walker was born on Sept. 12, 1973, in Glendale, California. The actor’s given name was Paul William Walker IV. His father, Paul William Walker III, worked as a sewer contractor. His mother, Cheryl (Crabtree) Walker was a model. They reportedly split up in 2004.
Interestingly, both of Paul Walker’s grandfather’s had interesting experiences during the World War II era. His maternal grandfather was the commander of a tank battalion in General Patton’s forces. He was stationed in Italy. Walker’s paternal grandfather survived the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. This grandfather was also a boxing champion in the Navy’s middleweight division.
Walker began his entertainment career as a model. He also had roles in the 1986 series “Throb” and the 1994 film “Tammy and the T-Rex.” His career gained momentum during the late 1990s. His role in the film “Pleasantville” helped his career. Next, he appeared in several popular teen films. These were the football film “Varsity Blues” in 1999 and “She’s All That” that same year. In 2000, he had a prominent role in “The Skulls.”
But it was the first film in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise that took Paul Walker to the next level. That film, which also starred Vin Diesel, was released in 2001. He appeared in several other films in that wildly popular franchise prior to his death.
Walker was killed in a single-car accident. The fatal wreck took place on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. He had gone to an event to help support “Reach Out Worldwide” prior to the accident.
Paul Walker also had roles in such films as “Eight Below,” “Into the Blue,” and “Timeline.” During the early 1990s, he also appeared in “The Young and the Restless,” “Who’s the Boss,” and “Charles in Charge.”
