Unfortunately, another person has fallen to their death while at an arena.

A man had gotten tickets for the Phish concert on Sunday night that was taking place at the Chase Center. He had been seated on the upper level of the arena while he was watching the group perform.

This happened on the second of three shows Phish had at the arena.

According to KQED, officials arrived at the arena at around 8:55 p.m. after reports that a person was in need of emergency medical attention. When the officials arrived at the scene, the man was immediately pronounced dead.

“Medics arrived and immediately provided medical treatment, but despite the efforts of the emergency responders the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased,” Officer Robert Rueca told the outlet in an email.

From the look of it, the man somehow fell from the upper part of the arena by accident. There is no foul play currently thought to be involved in the man’s death. The identity of the man is not currently available to the public to ensure the news reached family and friends first.

It’s quite possible this arena may need some new safety precautions to prevent falling from these extreme heights. In fact, about an hour after the first incident that left a man dead, officers were back at the arena for another emergency call. This time a man had fallen, but luckily he did not die from the fall.

He did, however, injure himself as well as the man that he landed on. Both were taken to the hospital to treat these injuries.

For those at the concert, it was all very traumatic. Erika Munsch was seated only four rows away from the man that died when he fell. “I think we’re still in shock. It was pretty intense. There was no movement. The fact that they did CPR so quickly was a sign that, like, it wasn’t good.”

The entire situation left all of the Phish fans stunned and concerned as they had to watch a fellow fan fall to his death right in front of them. As of now, the band has not released any kind of statement regarding the tragic incident.

This tragic fall at Chase Center comes less than a month after a mother and her toddler fell to their deaths at a San Diego Padres baseball game.

The mother and son were at a Petco Park to watch the game. It was 10 minutes before the game was set to start when the two somehow fell from the concourse onto the sidewalk.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. According to CNN, the San Diego Police Homicide Unit was sent to the scene because the deaths “appeared to be suspicious” at the time.

There was a total of 39,000 people in attendance at the game when the two fell. There has been an increase in tragic arena falls recently. It has many looking to possibly add extra safety features in order to prevent this from continuing to happen.
