Tom Cruise is enjoying his time in England, soaking up the country’s top sporting events. On Sunday, the star bumped into Harrison Ford at the British Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton won the Grand Prix for the eighth time. He had to overcome a collision on the first lap with Max Verstappen, who is leading the drivers’ championship.

Meanwhile, a bevy of celebrities gathered in the VIP areas of the Silverstone track about 80 miles north of London. Photographers snapped the two superstars coming face-to-face, or mask-to-mask, with each other. Cruise also had a grid pass and was seen saying hello to Hamilton before the race. He’s comfortable at auto races, considering he played a young NASCAR driver in Days of Thunder.

Tom Cruise Filming Mission: Impossible 7 in London

Tom Cruise is in England for the filming of Mission Impossible: 7. The filming was halted, briefly, last month because of some positive Covid tests. While in England, Cruise is attending a ton of major sporting events.

He was at Wembley Stadium for the final of Euro 2020 between England and Italy. Tom Cruise was cheering so hard for England he even called the team for a pre-match pep talk. He watched the game with British soccer icon David Beckham.

“Obviously we have had ex-players and people get in touch,” England’s team captain Harry Kane told BBC Radio. “We actually had Tom Cruise get in touch yesterday evening, you get everyone who loves football.”

Tom Cruise also gave the team a screening of Top Gun: Maverick.

“They had a preview of a film that’s due out further down the line,” English manager Gareth Southgate told the Independent. “And they had Tom dial in to speak to them which was, I would imagine, quite surreal.

Meanwhile, Cruise also attended the women’s Wimbledon Final with his fellow Mission: Impossible co-stars. There are rumors that Cruise is dating one of the stars, Hayley Atwell. Wimbledon fans watched as Australia’s Ashl Barty beat Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova for the championship. When they saw Tom Cruise, they gave him a warm round of applause.

Harrison Ford in England for Indiana Jones Reboot

Like Tom Cruise, work also brought Harrison Ford to the United Kingdom. He started filming Indiana Jones 5 last month.

There aren’t many details about the new Indiana Jones revival. It could center around the 1960s space race, with a Nazi scientist working for NASA. There also are reports that some of the plot involves a ruined castle.

In late June, Ford injured his shoulder while rehearsing a fight scene. That’s according to Deadline. Director James Mangold continued to shoot other parts of the movie. Coincidentally, Ford suffered an injury when he was filming a reboot of Star Wars back in 2014.

The movie is set for release next summer, probably in late July.

The new Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible movie is scheduled to premiere in time for Memorial Day, 2022.
