Son of ‘Pioneer Woman’ Star Will Play Football at University of Central Oklahoma

It was not all that long ago that Ree Drummond shared the news that her son would be attending the University of Central Oklahoma. She wrote in a social media post that Jamar was “officially signed to play football.”

“I’m so proud of him and so grateful for his friends, coaches, and community for supporting him in countless ways,” the Pioneer Woman star wrote.

Next to her touching caption, Drummond shared a snap of Jamar rocking a “UCO FOOTBALL” hoodie.

“And I’m grateful for Jamar himself,” she continued her post. “His hard work, his commitment, and his presence in our family. Go Jamar, and #ROLLCHOS!”

The Central Oklahoma football team shared Drummond’s heartfelt post to the team’s Instagram story.

Meanwhile, the Food Network star revealed that she and her husband, Ladd, became foster parents just a couple of years ago. In an excerpt from her book, Frontier Follies, Drummond explained the situation.

“Jamar’s circumstances presented themselves to us in a way we couldn’t ignore,” she wrote in part. “Also, I have never wanted to subject Jamar to more attention than he wanted or needed before he had a chance to settle in and get his bearings in our home.”

Although the cooking star had never been a foster parent before, her and Ladd made the decision to bring in Jamar. That happened after the two met during a high school football practice in their hometown of Pawhuska. The Pioneer Woman is also a mother to Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd.
