“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond has already started her Thanksgiving prep, and she has some ideas for your holiday menu too.
Drummond took to Instagram earlier today to share a promo for the latest episode of her Food Network cooking show. During the 30-second promo, we see her stirring a delicious-looking cheese sauce or gravy in a pot, all while talking about a hit Thanksgiving dish: Mac and cheese.
“Mac and cheese is a definitely a great Thanksgiving, portable side dish,” the “Pioneer Woman” begins. “Because first of all, everybody loves mac and cheese. And second of all, it’s one of those dishes that you don’t necessarily have to serve piping hot right out of the oven.”
She continues, “So you can bake it at your house and then take it to Aunt Mabel’s. Set it on the counter until she pulls the turkey out of the oven. And you can help her make the gravy and just dive on in.”
Suddenly the camera cuts to a behind-the-scenes shot, showing Drummond’s two daughters, Paige and Alex. We also see Alex’s husband, Mauricio.
“Who’s Aunt Mabel?” one of the Drummond kids asks. Apparently, the Drummonds don’t have any family members by that name. For a second, it sounded like someone the “Pioneer Woman” had spent many family holidays with, making gravy and mac and cheese.
“She’s an aunt in my imagination,” Ree Drummond says with a laugh. Guess that answers that question. Though Drummond still asks it in her caption.
“Who’s Aunt Mabel? Find out the answer to this and many other compelling Thanksgiving questions this morning on my cooking show!” Drummond wrote earlier. “I’m showing you some dishes to take to Thanksgiving gatherings…wow, it’s getting close all of a sudden! The Pioneer Woman starts at 10 am ET/9 am CT on Food Network!”
‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Prepares For New Christmas Movie
“Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond can now add actress to her resume. She will star in Discovery and Food Network’s first-ever scripted feature film, the holiday-themed “Candy Coated Christmas.” The family film will drop in just six days, on Friday, Nov. 19, on the Dicvoery+ streaming service.
In the film, Drummond stars as Bee, who owns her own bakery in the town of Peppermint Hollow. The town, of course, happens to be the peppermint capital of this world, factoring into many of Drummond’s goodies in the film. She helps out newcomer Molly Gallant, who’s facing some tough times with the family business.
“I am so incredibly honored that Food Network asked me to play Bee,” Drummond said earlier in a recent sneak peek video. If I get to be in just one movie in my life, I want it to be a Christmas movie.”
