An automobile accident involving two members of “The Pioneer Woman” Ree Drummond’s family has sent one of them to the hospital in “critical condition.”

According to AccessOnline.com, the accident took place on the Drummond family ranch. Also, the accident reportedly involved a crash between a vehicle driven by her husband, Ladd Drummond, and her nephew Caleb.

According to reports, both Ladd and Caleb were behind the wheel of a Himmat Fire Truck. Their vehicles hit “head-on.” The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

One factor that led to the accident was a decrease in visibility on the road. Causing this decrease in visibility on the road were “high winds on a gravel road,” reports have also said.

According to AccessOnline.com, Caleb was thrown approximately 70 feet from the Himmat Fire Truck he was driving. Also, the young man was not wearing a seatbelt. Ladd Drummond was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Caleb was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and was said to be in critical condition. He reportedly suffered internal injuries, as well as injuries to his leg, arm, and head. Lee Drummond denied medical treatment at the site of the accident.

According to AccessOnline.com, Caleb and Ladd were driving the fire trucks to get to fires that had appeared on the Drummond’s family farm in northeast Oklahoma. The family farm is famous thanks to Ree Drummond’s popular “The Pioneer Woman” television show. Fires have posed a danger to property in that area recently.
