The Price seems pretty Right when it comes to former game show host Bob Barker’s net worth. Care to make a bid on it?

Bob Barker is sitting comfortably at 97 years old. After working for The Price is Right from 1972 until 2007, the 35-year veteran host retired from show biz, but not without a heavy pocketbook.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bob Barker boasts an impressive $70 million to his name. In addition, Barker “is earning $10 million per year for the last decade of his tenure on the show.”

If only.

Bob Barker was only married once, to Dorothy Jo Gideon, from 1945 until her unfortunate death at the age of 57 from lung cancer in 1981. Furthermore, the two never had any children.

So, it is unknown where the Barker fortune will be passed down to.

Bob Barker, Animal Activist

Throughout the years, he has donated much of his millions to animal rights movements. According to a recent article from Nicki Swift, he donated nearly $2.5 million to PETA in 2013. The generous donation allowed the group to open an office in Los Angeles, which was named in tribute to the former host, called the Bob Barker Building.

It has a nice ring to it.

Bob Barker also donated $5 million to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. This aquatic animal activist group reports using the money to attain a 1,200-ton vessel that would catch “illegal” Japanese whalers. It is named the Bob Barker as well.

“Barker has also funded the cost of a helicopter that will accompany the society’s ships,” reads the Sea Shepherd’s website. “The aircraft is named The Nancy Burnet after the president of United Activists for Animal Rights, an organization Barker also supports. This new helicopter will participate in future campaigns.”

But it doesn’t stop there.

Bob Barker handed over $1 million to aid in moving three elephants from the Toronto Zoo to a wildlife preserve in California.

While working for the show, Barker continuously showed his support for animal rights. He became famous for his “The Price is Right” tagline, “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered.”

Bob Barker racked up an impressive trophy case from his time as host. “According to the Emmy website, Barker has received 15 award nominations, including 12 as TV host. In 1999, he received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on the show.”
