On Monday, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, posted a series of photos taking in the “wild life” while in Santa Barbara, California. The famous actress has been roadtripping with her husband recently and seems to still be traveling around having fun. Can you blame her?
The daughter of Lisa Marie Presley got married to Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen back in 2015. He’s performed stunts in several blockbuster films such as The Great Gatsby, The Hobbit, and Suicide Squad. Additionally, the couple met while filming the 2015 film Mad Max: Fury Road. They’ve been together ever since, and seem to be living it up recently while visiting different areas of California.
Riley Keough frequently posts on social media, and shares snippets of her famous life for her fans. She has more than 450,000 Instagram fans and followers who look forward to catching a glimpse into The King’s granddaughter’s life. Since she’s grown up in the public eye since birth, Riley is used to it considering her family tree. But she seems to take it in stride and often uses her platform in a positive way, which can’t be said for all celebrities of her stature.
Yesterday, the actress revealed a series of four photos from her and Ben’s recent visit to Santa Barbara. The first two pics are of Riley Keough and her dogs with a picturesque background that includes flowers and rolling hills behind her. The last two photos are in the same location, but of her husband with their dog beside a giant tortoise statue. As she captioned her post, the couple were taking in the “wild life” while in Santa Barbara.
“Santa Barbara wild life safari,” Riley Keough wrote on Instagram.
Riley Keough Talks Music and Singing
Since Riley Keough is the daughter of two musicians, Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough, it’s no surprise she has musical talent. That’s not even including the fact she is related to Elvis Presley himself. So the musical genes are definitely there, but she’s mainly focused on her acting so far in her career instead.
During an interview with Variety this summer, Keough opened up about recently singing background vocals. She contributed to Orville Peck’s cover of Lady Gaga‘s 2011 hit “Born This Way.” The new country version of the single appears on Gaga’s 10th-anniversary rerelease of the popular record from earlier this year. Keough happened to stop by her best friend’s house, and the friend’s husband was producing the new rendition. He asked Keough to sing background vocals on the cover, and she obliged.
“I didn’t really know what it was,” Keough shares. “They said it was something for Lady Gaga but I really didn’t know just how big of a deal it was. I just sang the background on it and now it’s all over the news.”
She went on to speak about her connection to country music, and her grandfather’s work within the industry.
“There is something about country-folk music that is definitely somewhere in my blood,” Keough says. “I could listen to that kind of music all day.”
