Star actor Ryan Reynolds has posted a comedy throwback video on social media to mark Betty White’s 99th birthday yesterday.
The famous pair worked together in the 2009 film The Proposal, with White playing the grandmother to Reynolds’ character Andrew Paxton.
And in perfect Ryan Reynolds fashion, he is marking Betty White’s 99th birthday with humor.
The 44-year-old actor posted clips of a hilarious throwback video from the set of The Proposal to his Instagram Story on Sunday. The clips show himself and costar Sandra Bullock about to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look on the set before White shows up and Reynolds begins to shut down in fear.
“What is Betty doing here? She’s got an issue with me,” Reynolds asks the 56-year-old Bullock, who says to him in part, “What is your problem with Betty? She’s, like, the nicest person on the planet.”
Bullock then goes to give White a hug. The Golden Girls legend emphatically throws her arms around Bullock and enthuses, “Oh, there she is! How’s America’s sweetheart?” She then went to sit next to Reynolds.
“Hi Betty, how are you?” Reynolds asks White nervously after she comes over to sit next to him. Plastering on a smile, White takes a jab at his name: “Brian!”
Reynolds, of course, posted the hilarious clip to his Instagram story.
“We made this 12 years ago,” Reynolds wrote in the post. “Betty turns 99 today. But she is [100 emoji] the funniest person on the planet.”
