The miracle of childbirth never ceases to amaze. There is something truly awesome about the ability people have to create little humans in their image. “Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson Huff and her husband Christian did just that less than two months ago.

And while it’s a beautiful thing, bringing a child into the world can be a difficult process. The delivery of baby Honey James Huff is an example of that. It didn’t go quite as smoothly as the new family would have liked.

First of all, can we all marvel at how great that name sounds? Honey James Huff doesn’t just have a ring to it. The name rolls off the tongue like… well, like honey. And fortunately for the Huffs, baby Honey is in great health, and the family couldn’t look happier.

But back in May when Honey was born, there was a brief period of time where things got really scary for Sadie, Christian, and the entire “Duck Dynasty.” Fans of the Louisiana family may already know that Honey came a few days later than the estimated due date. That’s a normal occurrence. But Honey getting stuck before she got to say hello to mom and dad for the first time was far from normal. And it had Sadie worried.

The Scary Moments Before Honey James Huff was Born

In a recent episode of her podcast that was analyzed by US Weekly, Sadie Robertson Huff revealed some of the scary details regarding Honey’s birth.

“All of a sudden I was pushed down on the bed, they pushed my mom out of the way and every nurse in the room was just over me, and they were pulling my legs and pushing my stomach as hard as they could. I thought they cut me open because of how painful it was when they pressed on my stomach. Now I know they were pressing my pelvis bone to get her out because what happened was Honey got stuck. Her shoulder got stuck.”

Apparently, it was much scarier than Honey’s shoulder simply getting stuck. The umbilical cord was wrapped up in the mix and it was preventing the baby from getting air. After the scariest two minutes of Sadie Robertson Huff’s life, Honey was finally out.

Sadie Robertson Huff’s Daughter Took the Complications Like a Champ

In perhaps the biggest surprise of all, Honey James Huff made it through the ordeal completely unscathed. And that’s not taking anything away from the danger of the situation. The nurses reportedly thought that her shoulder would be dislocated and that they’d have to rush her to intensive care to help her recover.

But Honey had other ideas.

“They had three doctors check her shoulder because they were in disbelief. She never had to have any other care because she was so strong,” Sadie continued in the interview.

What a trooper. Congratulations again to the Huffs and Robertsons on the new addition to the family!
