Seal Team star Max Thieriot has a favorite costar. And, Max Thieriot notes, this costar is a very, very good girl.
“Dita is a pro,” says the SEAL Team star of the pup that played the teams on screen K9, Cerberus.
Dita’s handler, Justin Melnick also stars as one of the SEAL Team members, Brock Reynolds in the popular CBS series.
“Dita is his dog and she’s like part of the family now,” Thieriot says in a 2020 interview with Parade magazine.
“Half the time she just hangs out and everybody’s playing fetch with her,” the SEAL Team star continues.
“She’s getting treats and she’s snuggling with everybody on the couch,” Theriot adds. “Not your typical Malinois, for sure. She’s the sweetest little thing on the planet.”
While Max Thieriot certainly had a connection with Dita, the K9 left the popular drama not long after the interview.
‘SEAL Team’ Says Goodbye To Cerberus
Near the end of SEAL Team’s third season, Dita’s Cerberus was injured while on the job.
The K9 was cleared for duty as the show’s two-hour-long premiere hit airwaves. However, the injury did mark the end of Dita’s time on the show.
Dita was replaced on the hit series with a two-and-a-half-year-old Dutch Shepherd named Pepper.
According to reports, this change occurred when Dita, a five-year-old Belgian Malinois was having a hard time telling the difference between the SEAL Team’s explosive on-air drama and real life. Eventually, Melnick decided it was time for the pooch to retire.
While Max Thieriot certainly has an affection for Cerberus, his love for animals certainly spans across species.
Earlier this fall, the SEAL Team star shared an awesome throwback photo of himself as a child, proudly displaying a shark he had caught while fishing.
Thieriot’s Unique Throwback
On September 23, the thirty-two-year-old SEAL Team star took to Instagram to share an awesome photo of himself displaying the very unique catch.
The young Thieriot all smiles as he proudly holds up his catch.
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat,” the SEAL Team star jokes in the impressive throwback post. “back when I was just a little grom catchin anything that would bite,” Max Thieriot continues.
The star goes on to joke about the animal’s fate, just in case anyone was worried that the shark didn’t make it after the photo was taken.
“And don’t worry Karen … we put these guys back,” Thieriot jokes. “cause they weren’t good eating.”
Of course, while the SEAL Team star didn’t keep the unusual catch, he did ask his Insta followers what type of shark it was that he was holding in the photo. “who can name this kinda shark?” the star asks.
