Since 2017, actor A.J. Buckley has played the character of Sonny Quinn in “SEAL Team.” Before he joined the cast of the popular military drama, the 44-year-old actor had dozens of other television shows and films to his credit.

So, chances are Buckley is a very familiar face to the show’s viewers. So, let’s take a look at his acting career, which has spanned more than 25 years. Buckley’s first acting role came in 1992, according to IMDb. This role was as a hall monitor in the CBC series, “The Odyssey.”

The future “SEAL Team” star appeared in an episode of “The X-Files” in 1996 and in an episode of “Millenium” in 1997. He landed roles in the films “Disturbing Behavior,” “Random Acts of Violence,” “Convergence,” and “Deal of a Lifetime.”

According to CBS, it was his role as the character of Charles ‘Chug’ Roman in “Disturbing Behavior” that really gave A.J. Buckley’s career a boost. It was this role that led respected director David Nutter to encourage the young actor to move to Los Angeles.

With the early 2000s, the future “SEAL Team” star continued to land role after role. He appeared in such films as “The Forsaken” in 2001, “Wishcraft” in 2002, “Nightstalker” in 2002, and “In Enemy Hands” in 2004.

‘SEAL Team’ Star A.J. Buckley Landed a Role in ‘CSI: NY’ in 2005

It was in 2005 that A.J. Buckley landed a major television role. This was the role of Adam Ross in “CSI: NY.” He remained on this hit drama until 2013 and appeared in more than 100 episodes.

During his tenure in this series, Buckley appeared in other television series as well. These include “Entourage,” “Wolverine and the X-Men,” “The Super Hero Squad Show,” “Ghostfacers,” “The Talent Show,” and “Flashpoint.” Buckley also had a recurring role in “Supernatural” from 2006 until 2014.

In 2014, Buckley appeared as Danny Crowe in the popular television drama “Justified.” He followed this with work in the television shows “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Murder in the First,” “Narcos,” “Blue Bloods,” and “Pure.”

He began his tenure on “SEAL Team” in 2017. Since that time he has appeared in more than 90 episodes. The show began on CBS and now airs on Paramount+.
