It has been 25 years since Shania Twain released the album “The Woman in Me.”

Now the country music icon is reflecting on her career. The album sold millions of copies, launching Twain in super stardom.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Twain talks about the impact the album had on her career and life.

“I certainly had no idea during the making of ‘The Woman In Me’ that it would be such a pivotal moment in my life and in my career,” Twain says in the interview. “It changed everything. I had no idea what to expect as far as if it would succeed at all and then when it did start to succeed, of course I had no idea that it would come to this and 25 years later I would be celebrating a diamond edition.”

The Canadian singer and songwriter has sold well over 100 million albums in her career. That number makes her the best selling female country music artist of all time.

“The Woman in Me” came out in February of 1995. There are 12 songs on the album and 8 released as singles, including the hit “Any Man of Mine.”

Twain Working on Book Adaptation

Twain has now turned her attention to the adaptation of the book “Heart of Texas.” According to Fox News, Twain is set to executive produce, write music for and appear in the adaptation.

“The ‘Heart of Texas‘ story is quite parallel in many ways to my own,” she said. “It’s about a young family that loses their parents and facing all the challenges of carrying on life without their parents as a family unit, keep the family business going. They’re ranchers. I was never a rancher, but I’m horse crazy so I’m already dreaming about the horse I’m going to ride in the series, I can’t wait.”

It isn’t yet known when the adaptation will be brought to television, but Twain speaks glowingly about its possibilites.

“It’ll be beautiful as well,” she says. “It’ll be so beautiful. The locations are going to be gorgeous, I’m already enjoying location scouting.”
