Shania Twain is asking fans on Twitter to vote for the version of her album, “Up!” they prefer the most.
It was 18 years ago today that she released her fourth studio album, “Up!”.
Shania Twain Asks Fans to Vote
And Shania Twain is celebrating the anniversary by asking her fans to choose which version of the two albums is their favorite.
The album is distinct for offering it in three different genres. One version is pop, while the other is country. The pop record is a red disc, and the country record is green.
However, a third version was also offered. A blue CD for international or Indian-inspired music.
Shania has now posted a voting poll on her Twitter page in order to determine which of the two versions is most popular.
She says, “Let’s solve the age old question… Which version?”
At this time, there is one hour left to vote.
And the Winner Is…?
Fans are responding to the poll with great enthusiasm.
One fan states, “Shania is the queen of Country/Pop. You can’t listen to Shania without hearing a little bit of Country music! Green version all the way!”
And another remarks, “Shania I like the red version more…but the green and blue version are also very interesting, because the musical arrangements are fabulous and attract our attention to a different sound that I really like, because you managed to be original and still win my ear…sincerely love.”
But some fans weren’t happy about the blue album not being mentioned or its exclusion from the poll, leaving one person to comment, “How DARE you not including the Blue one!”
Previous to the poll, she tweeted a photo of the front and back covers of the album.
“Happy Birthday Up!” Twain posted. “18 years of going up up up! Favourite song?”
“Up!” debuted at No. 1 on the pop and country charts. It also led to a number of single releases, such as “I’m Gonna Getcha Good” and “Ka-Ching!” It became her third diamond-certified album in a row.
In 2004, “Up!” was certified as an 11x Platinum record, giving her the distinction of being the only female artist to have three consecutive Diamond albums released in the United States.
