Sharon Osbourne Appearing on ‘Real Time With Bill Maher’ After ‘The Talk’ Exit: How, When to Watch

by Quentin Blount

Sharon Osbourne is gearing up to participate in her first public interview since the controversy that led to her leaving the Emmy Award-winning CBS talk show, The Talk.

Osbourne began on The Talk as one of the daytime show’s original cast members. However, she sparked a dispute about racism versus freedom of speech with fellow host Sheryl Underwood back on March 10. That heated confrontation ended with major blowback for Osbourne. She has since issued an apology to the Black community on social media, claiming she was “set up” by CBS. She also lays the blame at the feet of “cancel culture.”

Meanwhile, CBS went on to conduct its own investigation into what happened. The Talk would go on a month-long hiatus before Sharon Osbourne eventually stepped down from her long-time role on the show. Osbourne had been a part of The Talk beginning back in 2010. The network announced her departure in a statement.

“Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave ‘The Talk,'” CBS announced. “The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching at home. As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values for a respectful workplace. We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts.”

Since her exit from the show, Osbourne’s former co-hosts on The Talk have come forward with other troubling accusations. Both Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete have come forward saying that Sharon Osbourne has done and/or said racist other things in the past.
