Tia Mowry-Hardrict is happy about taking her time losing extra pounds from her 2018 pregnancy with daughter, Cairo.
The 42-year old “Sister, Sister” actress shared a photo on Instagram, Tuesday, flaunting a healthy new look and a message to new moms.
“I’ve lost to date 68 pounds since giving birth to my daughter. I’m very proud that I did it my way and in my time. I didn’t feel rushed to snap back. I enjoyed breast feeding and spending quality time with #cairo and my son #cree,” she said.
Mowry gets to the bottom line as she offers this advice to women who might feel pressure to lose extra pregnancy weight quickly. She continues, “To all the women who are feeling pressured after birth. Do YOU! Do what makes YOU proud and do it in YOUR time. Not anyone else’s.”
Mowry’s message to women may come from the experience she had with her pregnancy, claiming she was fat shamed. In another Instagram post she made back in October 2019, she then too reminded women not to fold to the pressures of society.
“I was called #fat during my #pregnancy and I was called #fat after my #pregnancy. Why do we do this to each other? Instead of #love one another other? I will never understand that. I intentionally documented my journey and became vulnerable to show #women that it’s okay to go at your own pace, it is okay to love yourself no matter where you are in your journey. Do not fold to societal pressures,” she wrote.
Inspired Tia Mowry Fans Respond
When Mowry spoke to E! News about this topic back in 2018, she claimed that she wants to set an example for women.
It certainly looks like that is now the case. Her latest Instagram post has received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, including one comment from basketball player Candance Parker, “I picked a GREAT role model offset and in real life.” Another fan wrote, “Exactly, people don’t understand it took 9 months to gain the weight gonna take much longer to lose it. You are looking great keep it up!”
