Miley Cyrus is rocking out with idol Stevie Nicks, as the two debut a new duet remix.
Cyrus is a little bit country, and Nicks is a little bit rock-n-roll, but they’ve joined their musical stylings together and created a song entitled “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix)”. The song is on Miley’s new album Plastic Hearts being released Nov. 27.
Two Powerful Women Join Forces
The two women are powerhouses in their own right, with the pair coming from two separate musical backgrounds.
Stevie Nicks is known for her leading role in Fleetwood Mac, and gained further fame as a solo artist.
Cyrus has performed duets with country music icon Dolly Parton, while joining Parton in singing her hit song “Jolene”.
However, Cyrus stepped out of her status of solely being a country singer and ventured into the pop music scene with songs like “Wrecking Ball” adding to her already well-known stardom.
Miley and Her Idol
In an Instagram post, Miley states, “Stevie Nicks has always been my idol & an inspiration. It’s an honor to now call her my friend and collaborator.”
Nicks’ posted a 15-second preview of the song to her Twitter page, saying “Duet with @MileyCyrus …Magical! Loved singing with her! Available everywhere.”
The photos of the two are dressed in a similar style, one in which Stevie is well-known-for throughout her career in both Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist.
After a career of platinum-selling albums and sold-out concerts, Stevie Nicks became the first and, thus far, the only woman to be inducted into the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame twice.
A Collaboration of Two Icons
Cyrus, 27, and Nicks, 72, were both pleased with the song, and on social media, the two say they enjoyed working together, especially Cyrus, who is a huge fan of Nicks.
The remix includes Miley Cyrus’ song ‘”Midnight Sky” and Nicks’ iconic song ‘Edge of Seventeen”, appearing on “Bella Donna”, her first solo album.
Fans went wild upon hearing the news, as thousands responded to both women’s Twitter pages and expressed highly positive comments.
