Orange County officials have charged Storage Wars star Jarrod Schulz with domestic violence after his ex and co-star Brandi Passante said he pushed her.
TMZ is reporting Brandi was at a bar on April 30 with friends when Jarrod showed up. The couple got into a heated argument. And Jarrod started yelling at them after being told to leave.
At some point during the argument, TMZ said, Jarrod pushed her twice. Jarrod left before police arrived, but days later he said he never touched her.
The Orange County district attorney charged him with one count of misdemeanor domestic violence battery, according to TMZ.
The couple would often argue over auctions during Storage Wars episodes.
‘Storage War’ ‘Young Guns’ Split 2 Years Ago
Fans of the show didn’t find out about the break-up until season 13 of Storage Wars premiered this year. But Brandi had apparently walked out in 2018, shortly after wrapping filming on season 12. People said. Since then, there have been hints that the two had split, but neither confirmed it.
The first time fans found out is when Brandi Passante mentions that she’s no longer with Jarrod in the premiere.
Though there have been hints. She said in a Facebook Live interview with The Dad Diary last year, she mentioned being a single mother. The couple have two children together. Brandi said not much had changed, but she hinted at some serious issues behind the scenes.
“I did a lot of it on my own anyway,” she told the host, “but it’s the scary dad voice in the background that we’re missing.”
Jarrod has posted on social media with his new girlfriend, but Brandi said she is trying to reclaim her identity before she forms an “attachment to someone.”
“I wasn’t really allowed to have an identity for many, many years. And so these last couple of years, I’m kind of coming into my own and figuring out who I am,” she said. “I just don’t have an attachment to anyone. I’ve definitely dated and things like that, but … right now it’s not something I’m really trying hard to seek out. I’m waiting until I can feel an attachment to someone.”
Both Jarrod and Brandi remain on Storage Wars, but instead of being branded as the brash “young guns,” producers are pitting them as rivals. That may be closer to the truth than not, as Jarrod repeatedly raised the bids on any auction lot Brandi had also placed a bid.
