‘Survivor: Palau’ and ‘Survivor: 10 Year Anniversary Party’ star Angie Jakusz has died terribly young at age 40 after battling cancer.

Former contestant on the “original reality show” Survivor, Angie Jakusz, has passed after a long battle with cancer, social media confirms.

Jakusz died Friday in New Orleans. While her exact cancer, and cause of death, remains unknown, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up in her honor that notes she was diagnosed with “a rare form of cancer.”

During her original tenure on the popular reality show, fellow contestants jovially named her “No Fun Angie.” As such, she was known for her “all work and no play” attitude towards winning the American game show. She first appeared on the competition’s 10th season: Survivor: Palau, competing for the Ulong tribe.

Within that season, Angie made history on the show. Her vote out came on Day 12 after becoming the first contestant to ever lose a revote in tribal council.

Angie made her mark on fans in Palau, and would return for the Survivor 10 Year Anniversary Party in 2010. She was diagnosed with cancer in the years since, and retained a low profile through her struggles.

Remembering Angie Jakusz

Angie Jakusz was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she also spent her childhood. Eventually, she would resettle in New Orleans where she made her living as an artist, according to TMZ. She was also a known bartender in the famous French Quarter.

Surviving Angie are her husband, Steven Calandra, both her parents, her brother, and niece & nephew. She leaves us terribly young at just 40 years of age.

Jakusz’s death comes after several losses of great entertainers in the beginning of 2021. Among them are country legend Ed Bruce, and beloved actress Tanya Roberts.

Our condolences to friends, family, and fans of Angie Jakusz amidst this tragic loss.
