“You are the best thing that’s ever been mine.” These Taylor Swift lyrics from the song “Mine” from her album “Speak Now” seem to perfectly capture what the artist is going through right now. That is the process of re-recording her older work, the work she considers a huge part of who she is.

Despite legal differences, she considers them very much hers.

According to Pitchfork, Scooter Braun and his media company sold the master rights to her first six albums. Swift said the masters were sold to a private equity company and the deal was more than $300 million. She quickly clapped back at Braun. The singer announced the plans to re-record and promised her fans “plenty of surprises in store.”

Fans have been anticipating Swift’s newest project of releasing a newer version of her old albums. The recent news that Swift has a 10-minute version of the song “All Too Well” mixed with her missing the AMAs from being so caught up in the studio, has fans excited for the project.

Swift Reveals Favorite Re-Recording

In an interview with “Good Morning America” host George Stephanopoulos, she revealed what her favorite song to re-record has been so far. In fact, Stephanopoulos’ daughter is the one who asked Swift the question.

“I’ve been having a really good time re-recording my older music. I think my answer is that so far of the ones I’ve recorded I think it’s been most fun doing ‘Love Story,'” Swift said.

“Love Story” was on Swift’s 2008 album “Fearless.”

“Love Story” also won the Music Video of the Year award at the 43rd CMA Awards.

For Taylor Swift, the re-recording process is more than just singing the songs again. It’s also about making them better by now using her more adult, aged voice on the tracks.

“Sometimes when I hear my older music and my older, teenage voice it makes me feel like I’m a different singer now. It’s been the most fun to go back and re-record ones that I can actually possibly improve upon the songs,” Swift said.

Taylor Swift directed the new movie on Disney Plus. It has the same warm, cozy energy that she claims was the feeling they had recording it.

This time, however, Swift, The National’s Andy Dessner, and Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff were able to have a live recording session of the songs on the album. They created one of the coziest live concerts that fans can stream at home.

“Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” can be streamed right now on Disney Plus. It was released last night at midnight.
