‘The 700 Club’ Legend Pat Robertson Stepping Down as Host

On Friday (October 1st), The 700 Club legend Pat Robertson officially announced he is stepping down as host of the Christian Broadcasting Network program. The long-time host has been on the show for 54 years.

“It has been sixty wonderful years and at this point, I think it’s time for me to make the announcement that I will no longer be the host of The 700 Club,” Robertson announced. He also declared that his replacement as The 700 Club host will be his son, Gordon Robertson.

Although he won’t be hosting anymore, the Christian Broadcasting Network reported that Robertson will be appearing on a monthly, interactive episode of the show. He will be answering viewer emails at that time. The network also confirmed that Roberson will also remain available for occasional broadcast appearances as a senior consultant on international.

Gordon also spoke about his father’s The 700 Club legacy.

“‘Good and faithful’ doesn’t even begin to describe my father’s service to CBN for 60 years. His legacy and the example of his prayer life will continue to lead The 700 Club in the years to come. And the best part is, he is just going across the street to Regent University and will be on The 700 Club regularly in the future.”
