A very special – and emotional – reunion between two stars of “The Brady Bunch” was shared by Entertainment Tonight in 2000. It was a reunion between two women who played sisters on the famous 1970s family sitcom.
Those two actresses were Maureen McCormick and Susan Olsen. McCormick played the oldest Brady girl, Marcia. Olsen played the youngest, Cindy. McCormick was 13 years old when the show began. Olsen was only 8 years old.
“It’s been years since I’ve seen our old stage here on the Paramount Pictures lot in Hollywood,” McCormick said in 2000. “And my return brought back a whole bunch of memories and reunited me with one of my TV sisters.”
According to what Olsen told the program, she had not seen McCormick in five years.
“The last time I saw Maureen was in August of 1995,” Olsen said. “It was at my wedding. So, that was quite a while ago. In fact, long enough that I am now divorced.”
McCormick said she couldn’t remember the last time she had seen her costar from “The Brady Bunch.” “I can’t wait to see her,” she added.
When the two “Brady sisters” finally saw one another, they each reacted with happiness and excitement. And quickly embraced one another.
“Hi! You look great,” Olsen exclaimed. “You do too! It’s so good to see you,” McCormick added during the emotional moment.
Reunion Between the Two Stars of ‘The Brady Bunch’ Included a Tour Around Paramount Pictures
Once their emotional greeting was over, “The Brady Bunch” stars Maureen McCormick and Susan Olsen walked around the Paramount Pictures lot. One placed they stopped was the costume department. Both recalled that it had once been located somewhere else on the lot.
“It was next to the barbershop, right?” McCormick asked Olsen. “Yes,” Olsen agreed. The stop in the costume department also allowed the two former child stars to look at some of the costumes that had been used on “The Brady Bunch.”
Their next stop was the location of the set on the show. It was filmed on stage five on the Paramount Pictures lot. According to McCormick, at the time of the reunion the stage was used to film the television series, “Angel.”
Before going onto the stage, the two recounted the time Olsen fell while chasing a frisbee costar Mike Lookinland threw. He played the youngest Brady son, Bobby. McCormick shared that she and Eve Plumb, who played middle daughter Jan, would go outside to smoke.
“Roaming around on the set, Susan and I were still able to see in our mind’s eye the way things used to be,” McCormick said.
“The Brady Bunch” stars also found the dressing room they used while filming the show. Interestingly, they discovered that the wall that once separated their dressing room from the boys’ dressing room had been knocked down. They also reminisced about going to school while filming the show.
