The Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams had some thoughts on the most meaningful episode he ever filmed. Williams, who played the oldest Brady son, Greg Brady, spent a lot of his teenage years growing up on the iconic show. Like the other child actors of The Brady Bunch, the audience got to watch them grow right in front of their eyes.

But, like all actors, some episodes for Barry Williams stand out more than others. For him, The Honeymoon has a particularly deep meaning out of the 117 episodes.

“Tell us your favorite episode,” the interviewer with ME TV Tampa Bay said.

“The episode most meaningful to me is the first episode we filmed. It’s called the honeymoon. It’s Where Mike and Carol get married and combine their families and I liked it because there was this freshness. There was a real, genuine, getting familiar with each other quality about it. We weren’t sure about anything. The relationships you see there were really building.”

For him, the meaning of the episode doesn’t lie in the fiction itself, but in the behind-the-scenes memories associated with it.

“We had never met each other. We didn’t know each other before we actually started filming on the show. What you see on the screen was us actually getting to know each other,” he said.

Williams Described His Time on ‘The Brady Bunch’ as Awkward

Anyone’s teen years can be pretty uncomfortable, but it would be especially strange to have to grow up, voice cracks and all, in front of a whole country. The actor, whose recently done multiple interviews about his time on the show, told Australia’s Today Extra about the experience.

“You could hear the voice changing, you could see the hair changing, you could see the growth spurts going on with all of us. So, it was sometimes awkward and sometimes fun. But I’ve always enjoyed people watching the show,” he said. Thankfully, his other co-stars went through similar experiences on the show, so they had each other to turn to when things got rough.

Even now, the actor says that the kids of The Brady Bunch “maintain their relationships,” even as they’ve grown up, gotten married, and have had kids of their own. Some members of the cast have stuck with show business, while others have decided to pursue other careers entirely.

Williams is one of The Brady Bunch actors who is still in the business. While he hasn’t worked consistently over the past decade, he definitely still acts. His most recent credit is for a 2021 film called Blending Christmas. His other recent credits include Hardliner, Flea, and The Loud House.
