“The View” host Meghan McCain will announce her resignation on today’s show.
Sources report that “Meghan will announce her resignation on Thursday’s show.”
McCain has been with the show for four seasons. She had two years remaining on her contract with ‘The View.” Both her fans and fellow hosts will be surprised to hear of McCain’s resignation. The source said that that McCain’s co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines, ‘are not yet aware that Meghan has resigned’.
Further explanation as to why McCain is leaving so abruptly has not been provided. However, sources said ‘we have tried to keep her, but she is adamant that now is the right time for her to leave.”
What Will Meghan McCain Do After Her Time With ‘The View’ Ends?
Her time with “The View” will end at the end of July. Neither ABC, the network that airs “The View, nor McCain has released any statements yet. However, McCain’s rich history in news and media hints that this won’t be the last time we see the host. Before her time with “The View” McCain worked as a columnist for The Daily Beast. She also worked as a Fox News host and an MSNBC contributor.
Additionally, in 2013 she launched the docuseries “Raising McCain.” During the series, McCain traveled around the country and reported on current events and topics including bullying and feminism. After the success of the series, McCain hosted the late-night news program “TakePart Live” on Pivot TV.
However, news and television haven’t been the only platforms McCain has found success in. In 2008 she also published her first book, “My Dad, John McCain.” The book became a New York Times best-seller.
There’s no word on what’s next for Meghan McCain. Fans will have to watch her announcement during today’s episode of “The View” and wait for updates from McCain. But with the success she’s had in television so far, we doubt that she plans to resign from the profession entirely.
