ABC’s talk show “The View” continues to face mass scrutiny after a series of past guests and hosts went public with their shocking claims about the work environment there. Speaking to drama both on-screen and off, Meghan McCain said the talk show unfairly and relentlessly bullies Republican hosts until they leave. She also cited the feud with Joy Behar as partially responsible for her departure. Candace Cameron Bure voiced similar concerns about her stint with the talk show from 2015-2016 saying she often felt “cornered” as a conservative voice.

Now, Former Fox News anchor Abby Huntsman is adding her two cents to the conversation. She co-hosted the show from 2018 to 2020 and initially told the public she needed to leave to attend to familial matters. Her recent podcast, however, explains what really happened and she slams “The View” for their “unbearable culture.”

The familial matters that Abby Huntsman cited as the reason behind her departure from “The View” have to do with her father. She told viewers that Jon Huntsman Jr. needed her help with his political campaign in Utah at the time. Now that other hosts are speaking out about the real reasons behind their exits, though, Huntsman feels safe to do the same. So, her new podcast, “I Wish Somebody Told Me” goes into the reality of what actually happened. With co-host Lauren Leeds, the two of them explore and break down the topic together.

At the time, Abby Hunstman considered her hosting gig on “The View” a “dream job.” However, she only grew disappointed as the show’s culture devolved into something she says she never signed up for.

“I knew [The View] did not reflect my values, when I say that I mean rewarding people for bad behavior,” Huntsman relays. “At that time there were executives in charge and that I did feel that we were kind of players in that game and it was about money and it was about ratings and the tabloids.”

She goes on to say that she made pleas to protect her mental health. “They wanted me to wait and I said, ‘I’m out of here Friday.’ It was just an unbearable culture by the end.”
