“The Voice” coaches like to give gifts to members of their teams. It gives a personal touch to the singing competition.
And as the show counts down to its season 20 premiere next Monday, the NBC promotion department is dropping details to get the audience ready. After all, it’s one of the most popular shows in the NBC lineup. The finale of season 19 drew more than 7 million viewers. Carter Rubin, who was on Gwen Stefani’s team, won “The Voice”.
So now, we’re talking about special “The Voice” gifts. But first, check out the first look posted on “The Voice’s” YouTube channel.
The Voice Blind Auditions Start Next Week
Each of “The Voice” mentors pick a team during the blind auditions. The first few episodes of the show feature these tryouts and competition between the coaches if more than one wants a contestant.
Blake Shelton says he’s giving his team a bobblehead of himself. We’re sure there’s some sentimental value of this item.
Nick Jonas returns for season 20. He was on the coaching panel last spring. But Stefani took his place on The Voice last fall. Jonas recently tweeted to his fans:
“Warriors never sleep. I’m back and ready to win this thing.”See you next season on @nbcthevoice!! PS – Hope you’ve been training @blakeshelton @kellyclarkson @johnlegend…. #TheVoice.””
Jonas also said in a “The Voic”e promo: “I’ve been living and breathing The Voice since season 18. I’ve honed in my skills. Channel your inner champion. Make Blake cry,” he says in the voice-over with an evil chuckle. “Little do these coaches know I’ve grown stronger by the day. The newbie has now become the master.”
Jonas liked to write in a notebook during season 18, scribbling down his thoughts on various songs. So he’s giving a notebook, with his face on the cover, to each member of his team so they can do the same.
John Legend welcomed Jones back to the panel. “Nick was really a great coach, and he knows music very well,” Legend said.
And what is Legend giving to his team? The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter is writing them a song. Now, that’s a personalized gift.
Finally, Kelly Clarkson, the lone female coach on “The Voice” this spring, is gifting each member of her team with a jacket.
Carson Daly returns to host the show, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
We also know who will serve as special advisors to the mentors. Team Blake will use the country group Dan + Shay. Team Kelly will utilize the talents of Luis Fonsi. Brandy will help out Team Legend. And Darren Criss, a former Glee star, will consult with Team Nick.
