Congrats are in order! The Voice judge Kelly Clarkson is the winner of Best Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host the 2021 Daytime Emmys. The talk show host competed against The Drew Barrymore Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live With Kelly and Ryan, and Today With Hoda & Jenna.

The award show tweet reads, “The #DaytimeEmmys Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host goes to Kelly Clarkson.”

Responding to the news, Kelly Clarkson shares on Twitter, “Ahhh thank you!!! It’s such an honor to win Outstanding Entertainment host at this year’s @DaytimeEmmys. But I couldn’t have done it without the crew, my band, my glam squad, and of course, the ones who watch at home!!”

The Kelly Clarkson Show made its debut in September 2019 and is currently on its second season. In a press release at the time, the show is described as a new one-hour talk show starring Clarkson. She notably uses her “gifts of connection” to bring viewers something new.

The singer shares in the release, “I love connecting with people, playing games, music, and finding ways to help or give back to communities [and] organizations. Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!”

Kelly Remains Optimistic About Her Show

In 2019, Kelly Clarkson sat down with Parade and discussed what she was expecting from her TV experience. “When [the show] was brought up to me, I was like, ‘What? No one’s going to watch,’” she joked. “I feel like I can handle anything now!”

Kelly also said she’s learning a thing or two from other talk shows hosts.

“The thing I’ve learned from people like Jimmy [Fallon], Seth [Meyers], and Ellen is don’t plan too much because life takes hold of the show and things start happening.”

What’s Next For ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’?

The Kelly Clarkson Show is replacing Ellen DeGeneres’ afternoon talk show slot some time in 2022.

According to various reports, NBC is quietly making plans to replace DeGeneres’ show once it finishes its 19th season.

“We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres’ 19th season,” Valeri Staab, President of NBCUniversal Local, reveals in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She also notes with Ellen’s show paired with Kelly Clarkson it’ll be a “blockbuster year.”

Staab also claims by 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the “star” of NBC’s daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to the network’s afternoon newscast. Tracie Wilson, Executive VP of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios, adds: “The Kelly Clarkson Show is one of the most optimistic success stories in first run syndication. It is a treasured part of NBCUniversal Syndication Studios’ offering. And we are proud to partner with the NBC Owned Television Stations group to continue the show’s success.”
