Did comedian Tim Allen get a touch of that “Old Time Religion” for his soul? Well, Outsiders, we don’t know if that happened.

But he did have a witty response to one person’s tweet.

For some context, Twitter user Garrett McClintock posted this and mentioned the “Home Improvement” star. McClintock also brought in the name of comedian Martin Short, too. Take a look right below here.

Yes, friends, this Twitter user put Allen’s and Short’s names in the mix with Houston, Texas-based televangelist Joel Osteen.

Tim Allen didn’t let that comparison slide, though. After retweeting McClintock’s post, he had his own response to that mention.

The comic wrote on Twitter, “Well, I Love Jesus. I love Marty. I wear blue suits on stage. Are we sure that isn’t me???? @JoelOsteen #martinshort”.

And there’s nothing wrong with loving Jesus and Marty Short. We’re sure there are some Outsiders who might feel the same way, too.

These days, Tim Allen keeps himself quite busy with his stand-up comedy appearances. The “Last Man Standing” star has time on his hands, too, after that long-running series ended. He also can be found working on and driving one of his classic cars.

Tim Allen Shares Prayerful Message In Light of Afghanistan

While the theme of this Outsider story is bending toward heartfelt words, might take a look back at another post from Tim Allen.

He blamed “ignorant leadership” and a “catastrophic lack (of) planning” after 13 American soldiers were killed in Afghanistan. The suicide bomb attacks in Kabul took place on Thursday, Aug. 26.

Allen made his comments late Thursday night. ISIS took responsibility for those attacks as U.S. servicemen and servicewomen were helping people board flights. Those bombings also killed a number of Afghan civilians in or near Kabul’s airport.

Tim Allen said he felt “adrift in the wake” of those attacks. Back on Aug. 21, he offered prayers for those killed on the Afghan battlefield.

On Aug. 26, the comic had these comments after those attacks took place.

“Darkness fills my head and heart at the loss of our Marines. All of us adrift in the wake of ignorant leadership and catastrophic lack [of] planning. Deep prayers to all the families that lost so much and to all those struggling to leave.” That was what Allen wrote hours after news broke regarding those attacks.

President Joe Biden promised to retaliate against those responsible.

“We will not be deterred by terrorists. (The U.S.) will not let them stop our mission. We will continue the evacuation,” Biden said in an address to the American people. “We will rescue Americans, we will get our Afghan allies, and the mission will go on. America will not be intimidated.”
