After nearly a decade, hit family sitcom The Last Man Standing is coming to an end. FOX announced the conclusion to the series on Wednesday and lead actor Tim Allen has feelings about it.
On Wednesday night, the Toy Story 4 star took to Twitter to share his reaction from the set of the show. “So hard to express how cool it’s been to be a part of this near decade long creation,” Allen writes. “Our final year…damn. You are going to love the what (sic) we are planning! Shooting as I type.”
After posting the tweet, thousands of Last Man Standing fans responded to express their sadness over learning the show is coming to an end.
“As everyone has already expressed, your show and all the actors in it will be missed,” one user writes. “So sad that a show that provided both sides of an issue isn’t going to be on the air. Will keep an eye out for whatever you do next!”

One fan in particular shared a hilarious idea for the final season. The Twitter user suggested referencing an ongoing joke in the show about the actresses that played Allen’s daughters being replaced throughout the series.
“Bring back original daughters,” one user writes. “Throw em into a few scenes in a place of new ones and the jokes will practically right (sic) themselves.”
Tim Allen Releases Statement About the Show Ending
Allen, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, released an official statement earlier on Wednesday, Hollywood Reporter writes.
“I’ve been one lucky dude to have been part of Last Man Standing,” said Allen, who’s also an executive producer. “I so appreciate the incredible support from our fans over this near decade of work. As we approach the ninth season, I just admire and feel grateful for all the hard work our wonderful cast and crew have done. We had all considered to end the show after last season, but together with Fox, we decided to add a year so we could produce a full season to create the gentle and fun goodbye. I’m looking forward to a memorable and hilarious final season.”
