Tim Allen Speaks Out About How ‘Expectations’ Are Creating His ‘Resentments’ in Thought-Provoking Post

Despite being a little long in the tooth, legendary actor and comedian Tim Allen believes there are many life lessons still ahead.

Tim Allen is known for his portrayal of hilarious characters like Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor in “Home Improvement. He has spent the last nine years as Mike Baxter in the popular sitcom “Last Man Standing” which recently ended. You also know him as Buzz Lightyear in “Toy Story” and Scott Calvin in “The Santa Clause.”

Tim Allen will turn 68-years-old in a matter of days with his birthday (June 13) just around the corner. Despite the immense success he has seen in his career, Allen says there is always room to learn. He took to social media on Wednesday to share a thoughtful post on accepting opportunities to learn. In the Twitter post, Allen says he is learning to let go so as to not hold resentment.

“I am learning the importance of letting go, my unrealistic expectations create my resentments,” he writes. “I read a quote that resonated, ‘We will be amazed before we are halfway through. We are going to find a new freedom and new happiness.”

Several Tim Allen fans chime in to thank the actor for his inspiring words. They also let the all-time great funny man know they are looking forward to seeing what’s next in store for his career.

“I absolutely agree Tim!” a Twitter user says in response. “Wisdom is always so seemingly simplistic isn’t it?”

Tim Allen Is Enjoying A Little Downtime

With “Last Man Standing” now over and “Assembly Required” currently on hiatus, Tim Allen is using his free time the best way he knows how. A huge lover of classic cars, he’s spending a good portion of downtime working on his latest project, which he calls “The Vik.

It is far from Allen’s first classic car rebuild as he and a team of mechanics try to breathe new life into an old hot rod. Tim Allen has a garage full of classic cars that he has personally worked in a restoration effort.

The comedy legend, along with many of his fans, is anxiously awaiting the renewal of “Assembly Required” for a second season. The show was a huge hit for Tim Allen but the History Channel has yet to officially declare the to be returning for another season. The reality competition show reunites Allen with his former “Home Improvement” co-star Richard Karn.
