Toby Keith Shares Election Day Message: ‘That’s What We’re Built On’

Like many celebrities across the U.S., country superstar Toby Keith is sharing his thoughts on the 2020 Election Day. The “Red Solo Cup” singer is urging Americans to head to the polls and exercise their right to vote.

On Tuesday morning, the 59-year-old CMA award winner uploaded a star-spangled post in which he offered his thoughts on voting. “I just think everybody should have an opinion & everybody should vote,” Keith writes. “That’s what we’re built on.”

Toby Keith uploaded the post with the simple caption: “Get out and vote. #ElectionDay.”

Shortly after sharing the snap, thousands of Keith’s fans flocked to the comments to share that they also voted. Many write that they are voting for a second term for President Trump while others hope to see Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House.

In addition to speaking out on Americans’ right to vote, Keith also wanted to make sure his fans had the right tunes to accompany them while doing so. He released an ‘All-American’ Election Day playlist for heading to the polls earlier this week. The playlist consists of songs from Keith as well as others from country legends like Waylon Jennings and Brooks & Dunn.

Country Music Stars Imploring Fans to Vote

A number of country music stars have also taken to social media to urge Americans to cast their ballots. Many, such as American Idol judge Luke Bryan, took advantage of early voting.

Last week, Bryan shared a masked selfie showing off his sticker that he voted in the state of TN. Similar to Keith’s caption, Bryan writes, “It’s your right. Go vote!”

Last month, Faith Hill posted a photo of herself, her husband Tim McGraw, and their daughter after voting early. The three masked up to cast their votes as part of a challenge previously issued by former First Lady Michelle Obama.

“Challenge accepted @michelleobama! My #VotingSquadand I voted together today,” Hill captioned the pic. She then challenged a handful of country music stars such as Kelsea Ballerini, Dolly Parton, and Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild to vote.
