‘Today’ Star Hoda Kotb Wishes Kathie Lee Gifford Happy Birthday in Sweet Post

Television personality Kathie Lee Gifford celebrated her birthday on Monday, Aug. 16. And, among those who wished her well was one of her coworkers on the popular daytime show, “Today.”

That coworker was Hoda Kotb. And, Kotb took to social media to share her special birthday wishes with Gifford. On Monday, Kotb shared a photo of her and Gifford smiling and embracing on the set of “Today.”

“Boy do I wish I could squeeze you today! Happy bday kath!!” Hoda Kotb shared on Instagram.

Former ‘Today’ Star Kathie Lee Gifford Celebrated Her 68th Birthday on Aug. 16

“Today” host Hoda Kotb reached out to her former “Today” co-host Kathie Lee Gifford in honor of Gifford’s 68th birthday. According to IMDb, Gifford was born on Aug. 16, 1953, in Paris, France. Her given name at birth was Kathryn Lee Epstein.

She and Kotb worked together during the “Today” show’s fourth hour. Gifford’s tenure on the show ran from 2008 through April 5, 2019. Before that, Gifford became famous for her work on “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” alongside Regis Philbin. She appeared on that show for 15 years and received 11 Emmy Award nominations for her work. Gifford also spent three years working on another popular daytime show. This show was “Good Morning America.”

In total, Gifford has spent 40 years in entertainment. In addition to her television work, she also has a record label. It is known as On the Lamb Records. And on this label she has released several albums, including “Heart of a Woman” and “The God Who Sees.”

She has also acted on the Broadway stage and has been nominated for that work. In 2012, she received a Tony Award nomination for the musical “Scandalous,” which she wrote. Gifford also performed in the Broadway productions of “Annie” and “Putting It Together.”

In addition to all of this, Gifford is also an author. She has written four books that have made it to the New York Times bestseller list. They are “Party Animals,” “The Rock, The Road and the Rabbi,” “Just When I Thought I’d Dropped My Last Egg,” and “I Can’t Believe I Said That.”

Years before she joined “Today,” Kathie Lee Gifford caught the attention of people in Maryland. When she was 17, she was chosen as Maryland Junior Miss. She attended high school at Bowie High School in Bowie, Maryland. Gifford decided to spend her collegiate years at Oral Roberts University. There, she studied music and drama. However, she did not finish her collegiate degree. She left the school while she was a junior.

Kathie Lee Gifford is also the godmother of two other famous television personalities – Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner. She has been married twice. Her first marriage with Paul Johnson lasted from April 1976 through May 1983. Her second marriage was to Frank Gifford. They married in October 1986 and were married until his death in August 2015.
