The son of Hollywood A-listers Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman typically stays out of the spotlight, but Connor Cruise recently showed off a huge fish he caught on social media.
Connor is an avid fisherman and has been for some time. The majority of his rare Instagram posts are of himself on a boat in open waters, or of the fish he caught. This go-round, the 26-year-old cast his line off the shores of Costa Rica, according to his tagged location.
The son of the two world-famous actors reeled in a massive yellowfin tuna during his fishing trip. Additionally, the enormous fish seems to be as large as Connor as he sits on the edge of the boat and holds it by the tail.
“Yellowfin were chewing today #200# @hook360 @lossuenosresort,” Connor Cruise captioned his Instagram post.
Connor supposedly got into deep-sea fishing more than a year ago as a newfound hobby, according to PEOPLE. In addition to fishing, he’s had a passion for music for most of his life. In fact, he turned his love of music into a career at a young age. By age 16, Connor had become a DJ under the alias DJ C-Squared. He played shows from Las Vegas, NV to Australia over the years, but seems to be taking it easier these days on open waters.
“Connor lives in Clearwater, which is the (Church of Scientology’s) main hub. He still deejays but he has really become a big fishing guy. He’s content with living a quieter life,” a source told PEOPLE.
Connor Cruise and His Famous Father Remain Close
Connor Cruise lives a private lifestyle and chooses to stay away from the limelight. Yet the public occasionally catches a glimpse of him when he’s out with his famous father.
Back in October 2019, the father-son duo were photographed by paparazzi while in London, England. The pair’s shared beliefs within the Church of Scientology have helped them remain close to each other through the years. Both Connor and his sister, Bella, who was also adopted by Cruise and Kidman during their 10-year marriage, grew up in the church.
“Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology. They’ve been members since they were kids,” the source said to PEOPLE. “(They) are completely dedicated Scientologists just like Tom.”
Previously, a source spoke to PEOPLE about Connor’s choice to live a private lifestyle.
“Connor has a pretty simple life in Clearwater,” the source explained. “He lives in his own home in a Scientology community. His life is deep-sea fishing. He has a lot of friends and seems very well-liked.”
