Tommy DeVito, one of the original members of the Doo-Wop group The Four Seasons passed away due to coronavirus complications at age 92.

Afredo Nittoli, who appeared in the 1995 film Casino, posted an announcement on Facebook. He says he was sitting in DeVito’s living room as he wrote the post.

The Four Seasons, now led by Frankie Valli, was created by Tommy DeVito, his brother Nick, Valli, and Hank Majewski, originally calling the crew the Variety Trio. Frankie Valli eventually joined the crew and the name The Four Seasons stuck.

Frankie Valli also sent his remorse for his dear friend and former band-mate via Twitter. Both Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio, “a piano-playing, song-writing prodigy,” as Valli’s site puts it, sign the post.

The ‘Jersey Boys Blog’ also posted on DeVito’s passing. Jersey Boys is a Broadway musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. A character portraying Tommy DeVito appears in the musical.

“We will never, ever forget Mr. DeVito!” the post says.

The Four Seasons’ hits include Walk Like a Man, Rag Doll, Bye Bye Baby (Baby, Goodbye), as well as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You. Tommy DeVito and his brother left the Four Seasons in 1970. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons still continue to tour and play music today.
