On Friday (September 17) The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots took to her social media account to remember her late husband, Blue Bloods actor Nick Cordero on what would have been his 43rd birthday.
“Happy 43rd birthday to you Nick,” Kloots writes to the Blue Bloods actor. “It’s really hard to not think about what we would be doing today to celebrate you.”
Kloots goes on to write that she would probably be taking the Blue Bloods actor for a really nice steak dinner with some red velvet cake for dessert.
“I hope you are up in heaven having a big party with your dad and because I’m wishing the best for you, Prince.”
Kloots then adds that she and their son Elvis will be missing Cordero today as they to him from earth. “
If you were here I know what you’d say, ‘I’m the luckiest man on the planet. I live a blessed life.’”
The Blue Bloods actor was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital on March 30, 2020, and was eventually diagnosed with COVID-19. He was placed in the ICU and was put on a ventilator. He was also treated with dialysis. In April 2020, his right leg was amputated due to a blood clot. He also experience lung damage in May 2020. On July 5, 2020, Cordero passed away at the age of 41.
Fans of ‘Blue Bloods’ Actor Celebrate Nick Cordero Day in New York City
Following the post dedicated to Blue Bloods actor Nick Cordero, Amanda Kloots also posted a video of New York City’s Mayor De Blasio proclaiming it was Nick Cordero Day.
“Today, Mayor De Blasio proclaims it is Nick Cordero Day in New York City!” Kloots declares in the post. “I’m completely blown away and I’m sure Nick would be too! September 17, 2021, is Nick Cordero Day in NYC!”
Mayor De Blasio was notably accompanied by the cast from Waitress to declare the proclamation of Nick Cordero Day in the city. In March 2016, the Blue Bloods actor joined the Broadway production of Sara Bareilles’ Waitress as Earl.
According to Playbill, Earl was the oppressive husband of leading character Jenna in the musical. The Blue Bloods actor originated the actor in the musical. He also performed in other musicals, including Rock the Ages and A Bronx Tale – The Musical.
At the beginning of September, the Waitress cast unveiled a special tribute to the Blue Bloods actor. According to People, a brand new pie will be featured on the diner’s menu boar. It is titled the “Live Your Life” pie, which honors Cordero by referring to his recorded single. He had just begun to perform the single when he died from the virus.
