If you’re an avid fan of the ABC drama “Big Sky” and have been itching for season two since season one stopped airing, we’re almost to premiere day.
The show will air on September 30, wrapping up a really monumental month for television in the process.
“Big Sky” writers have certainly worked to keep fans in tune with the series as they wait patiently for more drama. That includes an absolutely thrilling trailer that was released recently.
If you watched that trailer, surely you recognize a plethora of familiar faces. That includes our iconic crime-solving duo, Jenny (Katheryn Winnick) and Cassie (Kylie Bunbury). Also popping up next season will be Ronald (Brian Geraghty) and his new lover, Scarlet (Anja Savcic). Other main characters members include Jerrie (Jesse James Keitel) and Mark Lindor (Omar Metwally).
That trailer had plenty of beyond memorable faces, but also a lot of overwhelming new faces.
New Faces on ‘Big Sky’
According to Deadline, ABC will be welcoming Vinny Chhibber, Romy Rosemont, Patrick Gallagher, Ryan O’Nan, Michael Malarkey, and David Meunier to season two. So you’re not distracted during season two trying to figure out where you’ve seen these familiar faces, here’s a breakdown.
Chhibber is most recognizable for his work in “Animal Kingdom” and “The Red Line.” Rosemont is popular for “Beyond” and “A Million Little Things,” while Gallagher made an appearance in “Joe Pickett” and the “Twilight Zone.”
Malarkey was a popular character in the long-running series “The Vampire Diaries” and Meunier appeared in “Helstrom” and “Justified.”
Jenny and Cassie will be busy investigating a car crash that turns out to be a lot more complicated.
Roles of these New Characters in New Mystery
Chhibber will play Jab, an outsider that came to Helena after local drug dealers try to break ties with his family as their supplier. We’re going to get an interesting look at his family, which includes Ren, his sister. Ren is played by Janina Gavankar, the employer of the man that got into the accident who comes looking for answers.
If we know anything about family over on “Big Sky,” it tends to not be heartfelt dinners and sibling bonding. Take the Kleinsassers for example — or the two left standing after season one.
Rosemont will be Agatha. She co-runs an animal rehabilitation ranch in Montana. Gallagher is a returning cast member as Sheriff Tubb.
O’Nan is Donno, a bodyguard who works with the notorious crime family. Malarkey is Deputy Harvey, an arrogant cop who “sells his loyalty to the highest bidder.” He gets involved with a criminal organization and gets unhinged in the process.
You may recognize him from the trailer with his iconic line, “You think you can just blow into town and start making messes. It ain’t gonna go well. This is Montana.”
Lastly, Meunier is going to play Dietrich. He is the leader of a local band of drug dealers that starts a drug war.
Other new cast members to look out for are Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Troy Johnson, TV Carpio, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Arturo Del Puerto, Madelyn Kientz, and Logan Marshall-Green.
Make sure you’re paying attention this season because it seems like there’s a lot of new rolling into “Big Sky.”
