Why are we not surprised that Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg loves to eat on the set of the show? He just seems like the type of guy who can’t say no to a cannoli.
Blue Bloods has been around now for 11 glorious seasons. The fan-favorite police drama first aired on CBS back in September of 2010. And it stars some of the industry’s biggest stars in Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, and Amy Carlson. Some of them sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in 2014 to talk about just how much Donnie Wahlberg loves to eat.
As a matter of fact, Wahlberg was the first to bring it up and he definitely wasn’t shy. Hilariously enough, he had already been eating cannolis before the interview started.
“Yeah, I’ve eaten about six cannolis right now,” Whalberg said. “I was going to direct myself not to eat so much. But the cannolis are so good that I changed my mind and directed myself to enjoy as many cannolis as possible. So, I’m on number six and we still have three setups to go.”

Other ‘Blue Bloods’ Stars Speak Out on Donnie Wahlberg’s Eating Habits
That’s right, Donnie Wahlberg isn’t the only Blue Bloods star to know that he might have a little cannoli problem. Estes, who plays Wahlberg’s younger brother in the show, said that Wahlberg at least has an excuse to eat. And that is that he’s a cop.
“You know, seeing the menu and how much you eat depends on how brave you are. With Donnie, I think it’s a character choice. But Donnie eats, and he sometimes eventually complains about it,” Estes joked. “But ya know, he’s playing a cop and cops eat. So, it’s cool.”
But on the other hand, Wahlberg must call out those who eat less them him. Estes says that he and some of his other co-stars have special tricks that help them from eating so much on camera. But he will have to up his numbers if he wants to keep up with the man who plays detective Danny Reagan.
“Some of us have been called out on it,” Estes continued. “Because we have these little tricks that we do to not constantly eat during a scene. But we’ve been called out. So, we might have to go back and really up our game.”
And as for the lead man of the show, Tom Selleck, he says that he finds himself eating during scenes if the time is right. But Donnie? Not so much.
“I could eat a lot. Sometimes it fits the character and the energy of the scene. It just depends on the content of the scene. Except for Donnie — he eats all the time.”
