A lot of episodes of Blue Bloods show Vanessa Ray as Eddie Janko, working alongside her husband, Jamie Reagan. They have quite a dynamic. Yet both characters, Ray’s Eddie and Will Estes’ Jamie, do have their different viewpoints. The show has done a solid job of letting these come out over the years. If you want a good example, then watch the dinner scenes. You will see differences of opinion aired over food and wine.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Vanessa Ray Talks About What Eddie, Jamie Show Fans

These disagreements that pop up make the drama much more enticing. Viewers come back week after week looking for some types of interesting subjects. Watching Eddie and Jamie deal with real-life issues becomes part of their narrative, too. What, though, does Ray hope that Blue Bloods is showing their fans on the show?

“I hope that we are showing our viewers that if the love is strong in a relationship, you can disagree and still be at peace with one another,” Ray said. “The Reagans come together NO MATTER WHAT their differences are. I hope our viewers find ways to do the same in their own way.” We get more from The Nerds of Color.

“I love that they see the world differently and challenge each other to be better, do better, and go farther,” Ray says. “It’s not always easy with them, but they wouldn’t be who they are without the other. (And) I also love that they are these two no-nonsense cops that both have this extremely gentle side that they almost exclusively show each other.”

Watching these two characters join other Reagan family members for dinner is a sight to behold. Then watch them in scenes by themselves. Ray and Estes do bring both of their characters to life. The back-and-forth banter is worth observing. They do get into bringing the best out of Eddie and Jamie.

Recent Episode Put Eddie In Spotlight Over Her New Partner

You might recall one episode where Jamie wanted Eddie to get used to her new partner. This new work relationship for Eddie did not go as planned. She would look incredulously at Jamie, who wanted her to work it out on the job. Eventually, the situation did resolve itself and Eddie has been working with her new partner. Differences are part and parcel for Blue Bloods to present. Each actor in their own way just raises the bar.

Dinner scenes at the Reagan house will center around different characters. You might find Frank, played by Tom Selleck, getting into it with one of his kids. It’s not a screaming match, though. But more along the lines of not agreeing with one another.
