This week is a big one for Donnie Wahlberg and his “Blue Bloods” family. It is on Friday, Oct. 1, that the 12th season of their popular CBS drama will premiere. Just what the new season has in store for Wahlberg’s character New York City Police Department detective Danny Reagan and his family remains to be seen.
Obviously, fans are excited about the return of this beloved show. And, Wahlberg and his fellow “Blue Bloods” cast members are also excited.
However, there is something else Donnie Wahlberg is getting excited about these days. He talked about this during a recent video interview with Amanda Kloots on the popular daytime talk show, “The Talk.” Unsurprisingly, this exciting news involved Wahlberg’s popular group, New Kids on the Block. Wahlberg shared part of his interview on the show on his Twitter page on Thursday, Sept. 30.
“Is there any news for New Kids (On the Block) fans like me? Can you tell us anything?” “The Talk” host Amanda Kloots asked the “Blue Bloods” star during his video interview on the show.
At first, Wahlberg was hesitant to talk about New Kids on the Block. Apparently, he didn’t want any news about the fan to overshadow the 12th season premiere of “Blue Bloods” this week. However, he decided to go ahead and spill the beans – at least a few of them – anyway.
“There is news. Now, I am going to say that the ‘Blue Bloods‘ season premiere is tomorrow. So, I don’t want to step on that by giving too much New Kids information, because I’m in Danny Reagan mode right now. But, Monday of next week we will be announcing a tour for 2022. So, you heard it here first,” Donnie Wahlberg said.
Unsurprisingly, the news of another New Kids on the Block tour made the hosts of “The Talk” and the band’s fans in the audience very happy. Applause and cheers can be heard in the background after he revealed the news.
You can watch “Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg talk about New Kids on the Block – and their upcoming tour – on “The Talk” in the video below. In addition to the tease he shared during the interview, Wahlberg also added a bit more in his Twitter post.
“I guess what I’m saying is we got @BlueBloods_CBS Friday returning tomorrow night — and @nkotb announcing exactly when we will be returning, on Monday. Sounds liked a fun next few days for me and The Blockhead family. Let’s gooooooooooooooooo!,” the 52-year-old actor and singer also shared.
It just seems fitting that “The Talk” host Amanda Kloots would be talking to “Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg. She, of course, knows a lot about the show because her late husband, Nick Cordero, was a guest star on the popular CBS family crime drama.
Cordero passed away during 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. In addition to his television career, Cordero was also a respected Broadway star.
