Celebrity Wheel of Fortune returns for its next season later this month, but earlier today the popular game show teased the new season and its $1 million prize.

On Thursday afternoon, the spinoff of Wheel of Fortune with famous contestants shared a teaser clip of the new season. On Sunday, Sept. 26, the second season will air in primetime on ABC.

Per usual, hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White will continue their roles for the spinoff. Additionally, the game show has already revealed around 40 celebrities and famous athletes that will make appearances. They include stars like Seinfeld‘s Jason Alexander, and other famed actors such as Anthony Michael Hall, Vivica A. Fox, and Anthony Anderson. Celebrity athletes including Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller and NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns will also compete.

To hype up the newest season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, their social media team shared a teaser earlier today. It highlights some of the famous guests who will each participate in the special edition of the popular game show. To make things even more interesting, the celebrities will compete for a $1 million grand prize that will benefit their favorite charity.

“We spin it to win it! #CelebrityWheelOfFortune,” the game show wrote on Instagram.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Pat Sajak Explains What Took So Long to Create Celebrity Version of Show

Earlier this year, and for the first time in Wheel of Fortune‘s history, the show welcomed celebrities to compete and spin the wheel. While multiple game shows have celebrity guests, it was a first for Wheel of Fortune.

Now, the spinoff series is making a return for its second season. Fans don’t have long to wait since we’re only 10 days away from the first episode. However, the celebrity version of the game show is years in the making.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, host Pat Sajak touched on why it took so long to create Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

“Part of it is, we’ve always been careful about not getting the show overexposed,” Sajak said to Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve been on a very long time, and I don’t know how much Wheel is too much. But you don’t want to water the product down too much. And this seemed like the time to do it because of what’s going on in the world.”

An additional factor to the network adding the spinoff is the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the perfect time to expand the famous game show while millions of Americans sat at home starved for entertainment.

Wheel of Fortune is kind of a sign of normalcy for people; they were very glad to have us back on the air. So this seemed like a good time to expand into prime time a little bit. At least one time, and extend that normalcy. And also, the networks frankly need programming. A lot of stuff can’t shoot the way [we] do, so the timing worked out. It was good for everybody,” Sajak noted.
