‘FBI’ Showrunner Reveals Locations That Three-Show Crossover Event Will Feature

β€’

Three “FBI” shows will come together for a mammoth crossover event from three different locations.

An “epic” three-hour event is one way showrunner Derek Hass puts it. The block starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21 and keeps going until 11 p.m.

Haas told TVLine that the “FBI” event will go “from America to Hungary to Croatia and back again.”

He said “all the characters have to work together to stop the baddest of the bad” in “an action-packed thrill ride.”

One of the shows, “FBI: International” follows the FBI Fly Team. That particular group is based in Budapest that tracks and counters threats against Americans in a rapid-response way. The show will debut Tuesday at 10 p.m.

“They move from country to country in Europe each week, partnering with international law enforcement to bring criminals to justice,” Haas said.

Advantages To Bingwatching

Series creator Dick Wolf cited reasons why he thinks the decision to air all three shows on one night was a good move, according to CinemaBlend

“We know this works,” Wolf said in a Q&A session. “That there are certain dynamics that are just true.”

Currently, the show creator has “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” on NBC Wednesdays.

The “Law & Order” creator said viewers want to binge-watch, and the average time they do that is three hours. He said other streaming series shows have an average order of episodes.

But the three-hour viewing formula, to him, seems like a sweet spot for “FBI” show audiences.

“That seems to be where people are most comfortable if they’re going to sit down and watch something,” he said.

Later in the session, he added that, “people are very content to go from 8 [p.m.] to 11 [p.m.] if they’re being entertained.”

Wolf’s pride led him to further state that they will do, “a hell of job of entertaining people.”

Wolf On The Crossover Event

Teasing fans even more, Wolf had some exciting things to say about the crossover “FBI” show night.

“It’s a story that in its scale not only justifies but thrives on three hours in a row,” Wolf said. “And we know these work.”

The show will come down to audiences, calling them “ratings crack.” And he’s hoping “FBI International” will stick after that Tuesday show extravaganza.Β

The series creator was thankful to CBS for the chance to do this “FBI” show event and hopes to “knock it out of the park.”

The crossover event has “FBI” Season 4’s premiere, “FBI Most Wanted” Season 3’s premiere and the “FBI International” series debut on that prime Tuesday night.

According to CinemaBlend, the last two shows (“Most Wanted” and “FBI International” will switch spots after the crossover. “Most Wanted” will take a later time.
