Current “Jeopardy!” champion Matt Amodio has his grand entrance all mapped out. Cue the lights, camera, action, and iconic rock’n’roll music.

“Jeopardy!” posed a series of questions to the ultimate champion after his incredible success so far. Amodio now sits in the game show’s Hall of Fame with the third-highest number of consecutive wins (22) and third-highest winnings overall ($825,801).

Yesterday, the trivia show posted Amodio’s responses to their icebreaker questions on Instagram. It’s fun to feel like we know Amodio well now, and it makes it easier to root for him when we know his favorite celebrity or advice for success. But one question that stood out asked the “Jeopardy!” champ, “If you could have walk-up music, what song would you choose?”

Amodio’s response reveals his great taste in music and epic sense of humor. “It would absolutely be Crazy Train because I think the contrast between one of my favorite songs and my personality would just be too much to resist.”

He’s totally right. Imagine seeing the sweater-wearing, “Lord of the Rings”-loving Ph.D. student from Yale strutting up to his podium to the tune of Ozzy Osbourne’s hit single. I can’t picture it in my head without laughing.

But that’s on-brand with Amodio, who’s kept things light and upbeat all season. Even after competing under five different guest hosts (soon to be six), he never loses focus on the game. And he never hesitates to interact with his fans online.

When one fan posted a picture of a cross-stitch she created that looks like Amodio, he immediately responded online. “I’m flattered and impressed, that didn’t take long and it looks awesome!”

‘Jeopardy!’ Champ Matt Amodio Doesn’t Let Hosting Scandal Ruin His Chances of Historic Run

Right before the new season premiered on Sept. 13, “Jeopardy!” champion Matt Amodio spoke with “The Washington Post” about how the show’s host search difficulties have affected his gameplay.

“Frankly, the last thing I’m thinking about when I’m in the middle of a game is who’s hosting,” Amodio said in a phone interview. “‘Cause I’m trying to pull these really obscure facts out of my brain, and that takes all the mental energy I can afford at the moment.”

Amodio finished off last season with the last four guest hosts (Robin Roberts, LeVar Burton, David Faber, and Joe Buck). When executive producer Mike Richards was tapped for the job, he filmed one week’s worth of episodes with Amodio. But Richards has since stepped down from the spot amid controversy, leaving Amodio with yet another round of guest hosts to compete under.

But none of that bothers the “Jeopardy!” champ. The only thing he regrets is the lost opportunity to meet the legendary Alex Trebek, who died last November.

“He was a symbol to our society, and there’s no way that transition can happen without it being a big shock to people,” Amodio said. “And that, I will say, is my one real regret. Things are working so well for me on ‘Jeopardy!’ and I’m so tremendously grateful for the opportunity the show has given me, but it just didn’t work out, timing-wise, to meet Alex.”
