The season premiere of “NCIS: Hawai’i” is mere hours away, and we can’t wait to see Vanessa Lachey kick butt as Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant.
As the franchise’s first female Special Agent-in-Charge, Tennant will have her hands full in multiple ways. In addition to handling the men and women on her team, Tennant also has to juggle raising two kids on her own.
We saw a clip of that earlier this week when the show tweeted a quick clip from the “NCIS: Hawai’i” season premiere. Tennant’s coaching her nine-year-old daughter’s soccer game when a helicopter picks her up to take her off to a crime scene. In just that short span, we see the supportive soccer coach, stern but loving mother, and fierce Special Agent.
Now, TV Insider has released a follow-up clip that picks up right where the scene left off. In this new exclusive video, Tennant waves goodbye to her kids before getting whisked away to the crime scene. Right as she arrives, a team of men talks about moving evidence off-site, but Tennant quickly puts her foot down.
“Excuse me, Captain,” Tennant interrupts. “Can’t move anything. This is a crime scene.”
Before the captain can ask, she introduces herself as “Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant, NCIS: Hawai’i.”
Lachey’s mentioned in the past how her character doesn’t take crap from anyone. “She’s making it work in a man’s world, and she doesn’t take no for an answer. She finds her way into every opportunity she gets and comes out on the other end unscathed,” the actress said in a previous TV Insider interview.
The “NCIS: Hawai’i” actress also mentioned that Tennant’s not afraid to “get her hands dirty” on the job. And at the end of the day, she’s best summed up as “a badass with a warm heart.”
‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ Shows off Special Agent-in-Charge Jane Tennant’s Leadership in New Clip
Sunday, the show’s official Twitter account dropped another sneak peek at the series. The clip features Lachey as Tennant, as well as several other team members.
This clip shows off Tennant’s leadership skills, as she questions one of her team members where an autopsy report is. The team member replies, “I didn’t technically get it. While Whistler read it, I read it upside down.” Tennant’s face says it all, conveying how she must overcome yet another obstacle while trying to conduct this investigation. She quickly gathers the rest of the team to break down more information about what happened.
The season premiere promises to be exciting, from the helicopter takeoff from the soccer field to a mysterious aircraft crashing into a cliff. Check out the new “NCIS” spin-off on NBC tonight at 10/9 CT.
