‘NCIS: Los Angeles’: Callen Gets Help in Understanding Past in Upcoming Episode

by Shelby Scott

The next brand new episode of “NCIS: Los Angeles” airs Sunday, April 17th. And while the team has faced some interesting cases before, both the investigative crew and fans alike will be thrown for a loop. However, the following episode is what we want to focus on here. During “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 13’s 17th episode, airing April 24th, the series focuses on Callen and his past.

As per CarterMatt, psychologist Nate Getz has had a crucial role in the 13th season of “NCIS: Los Angeles.” And while his appearance could have been a “one-time thing,” the outlet revealed there are a couple of key episodes that really put a focus on the recurring character. One of those takes place during the season’s 17th episode, “Genesis.”

Longtime “NCIS: Los Angeles” fans are well familiar with the fact that Callen comes from a complicated past. And when “Genesis” airs later this month, we’ll definitely get a closer look at that. However, that’s all thanks to Nate Getz (Peter Cambor).

According to the episode synopsis, “The NCIS team helps Naval Intelligence officer Ahkil Ali (Ashwin Shore) locate a fellow officer who went missing while recruiting foreign assets as potential sources of intelligence.”

It seems our main mission focuses here. However, the episode description reveals, “Callen and psychologist Nate Getz track down a man Callen believes was present for his training when he was young.”

The April 24th episode not only takes on a trip through Callen’s past. Hopefully, it also provides more information regarding one of “NCIS: Los Angeles’s” lead characters, Hetty Lange. With Hetty another integral part of Callen’s past, maybe we’ll see her return to the series ahead of the finale.

‘NCIS: Los Angles’ Initiates Manhunt for Kidnapped Dog

The next couple of “NCIS: Los Angeles” episodes are definitely unique compared to some scenarios we’ve seen in the past. And ahead of the Callen-centric episode airing later this month, the iconic crew first receives an assignment to track down a kidnapped dog.

However, as “NCIS” Special Agent Gibbs would tell you, Master Sergeant Boomer is not just any dog. He’s a full-fledged marine. The preview for the upcoming episode, airing this weekend, starts off as we might expect any preview to.

“We are looking for a kidnapped marine,” Killbride says at the opening of the preview. And with the intense music and bright orange body bag, we can only assume it’s an all-hands rescue mission for a kidnapped serviceman.

However, the tides turn when an image of a canine pops up on the screen.

“That’s a dog.”

Definitely a shock for the “NCIS: Los Angeles” team, however, a marine’s a marine, and we can’t wait to see how the team goes about this mission on Sunday.
