Believe it or not, “NCIS” fans, we’re approaching the homestretch for season 19. And that means the “NCIS” finale will be upon us in a few short weeks. So far, showrunners have not shared word as to how they plan to end this rather tumultuous season. However, we do have all the details regarding the final episode’s airtime.
According to Hidden Remote, “NCIS” will wrap up its 19th season on CBS on Monday, May 23rd at 9 p.m. EST. That said, we still have a significant amount of time left to continue solidifying our relationships with the latest cast, as they continue to forge their bonds ahead of a brand new season.
As we prepare for the “NCIS” finale, fans should also ready for the season conclusion to rookie show, “NCIS: Hawai’i.”
TV Insider reports that we’ll conclude “NCIS: Hawai’i” during its usual 10 p.m. timeslot on Monday, May 23rd.
Meanwhile, “NCIS’s” veteran spin-off, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” will debut its premiere slightly earlier. As per the same outlet, the LA-based procedural drama concludes on Sunday, May 22nd at 9 p.m. EST.
‘NCIS’ Currently on Hiatus Following ‘Hawai’i’ Crossover
While “NCIS” remains weeks away from its season 19 finale, the series is on yet another brief hiatus. The beloved series last aired a new episode on Monday, March 28th, with “Starting Over.”
The midseason episode marked a pleasant one for fans. Episode 17 featured the return of fan-favorite character and good friend of Agent Gibbs’, Tobias Fornell. Overall, the episode centers around grief, and both Fornell and McGee are pivotal in helping two characters navigate their own.
However, it also set up the parameters for an exciting “NCIS”/”NCIS: Hawai’i” crossover as fans learn Nick Torres shares connections with the rookie series’ lead character, Special Agent Jane Tennant. The two characters’ relationship enabled showrunners to send Torres and Knight to Hawai’i for the rookie series’ first crossover with its original show. The crossover reportedly continues into the 18th episode of the latter series’ current season, which airs later this month.
According to Monsters & Critics, “NCIS” is to return from its temporary spring hiatus on Monday, April 18th during its usual airtime.
Iconic Franchise to Return for Another Season
“NCIS” season 19 got off to a rough start with fans’ unsure as to whether series icon Leroy Jethro Gibbs was alive or not. And while fortunately, we didn’t have to wait long to find the character had survived his ordeal during the “NCIS” season 18 finale, fans were forced to say goodbye to Gibbs shortly after.
Gibbs’ (Mark Harmon’s) departure from the show set up parameters for the iconic team to feature a brand new special agent in charge, finding a replacement in former FBI agent Alden Parker. Since taking over for Gibbs, who abruptly retired to Alaska earlier this season, the team has finally settled, and we’ll hopefully get to kick off season 20 in the fall with a stronger foundation than we had last season.
In addition to the forerunning series, “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: Hawai’i” have been renewed for a brand new season.
