The Voice may have added superstar Ariana Grande to its roster, but it’s Kelly Clarkson that won the first four-chair turn of the season.

In true Kelly Clarkson fashion, she was absolutely bursting with joy. Clarkson won over a trio by the name of Girl Named Tom after their chilling blind audition that seemed to give all four judges goosebumps.

Of course, Clarkson, who is in a constant rivalry with fellow Coach Blake Shelton, didn’t hesitate to take the moment to brag.

“Did you see that @BlakeShelton?! That’s right… Team Kelly gets the first four-chair turn of the season!” The singer tweeted.

Girl Named Tom was also the first featured performance of the season.

Ariana Grande Joins ‘The Voice’ After Being a Fan of the Show For Years

While Kelly Clarkson may have nabbed the first performance, but she’s going to have some fierce competition if she wants to beat out Ariana Grande, John Legend and Blake Shelton, who has the most wins. Still, Clarkson has won the multiple times before, so fans shouldn’t be surprised if she wins this one either.

But Ariana Grande has more than just her incredible singing talent and good ear on her side. She’s also been a major fan of the show for years. So if you’re wondering how The Voice landed someone like her… it’s because she really wanted to be there.

Grande also has a legion of fans tuning in to see the show both on NBC and in the live audience. In fact, in one promo for the show, Blake Shelton described what it’s like when Ariana Grande is in the room.

“You know, I’ve seen a lot of different coaches over the years join this panel. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a reaction quite like the reaction that we get when Ariana walks in here from our live studio audience. My ears are still ringing from when she walked out and introduced herself to the crowd. It’s unbelievable,” he said.

The next few episodes will focus on Grande, Shelton, Clarkson, and John Legend battle it out to pick their teams. The Voice is airing its premiere episode of season 21 right now on NBC if you want to see the coaches battle it out.
