Outsiders, ready for a little “1883” news? The “Yellowstone” prequel reportedly will have a Civil War reenactment in the series.

Say what? Yes, sir, that news comes courtesy of a Reddit thread. In the “Y1883” category, Cryptoclearance wrote, “Hot as hell today but wow, y’all are gonna love the re-enactment put together. Amazing. And a ‘special appearance’ I am not allowed to disclose will blow your mind. How those Civil War soldiers fought in all that wool in 100 degree heat is insane.”

In addition to that news, Cryptoclearance added some more details from the “1883” set.

“With regard to the special appearance surprise,” the Redditor wrote. “That’s for sure, as one of the re-enactors I can promise viewers will love that special appearance, and I ain’t sayin who it is either. That would just ruin the fun and surprise.”

‘1883’ Series Is Keeping Special Appearance Very Hush-Hush On Show’s Set

Cryptoclearance wrote, “Frankly we’re as curious about the character as the rest of y’all will be.”

Apparently, this Redditor had a part in the “1883” re-enactment. The person wrote, “Participating in this was a blast, the crew took really good care of us and kept us well fed, very well watered, and healthy. For which we are all extremely grateful.

“To my knowledge we had only one twisted ankle for actual injury on a day’s shooting with 300+ extras and re-enactors,” the Redditor wrote. “Pretty awesome. It wasn’t quite 100 degrees, just really dang close.”

“1883” is a prequel to “Yellowstone” and stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliott, LaMonica Garrett, and Billy Bob Thornton. It will debut on Paramount+ on Dec. 19.

McGraw Geeked About Playing Dutton Patriarch In New Series on Paramount+

Who will McGraw and Hill play? Well, unless you have been under a rock, then you know on “1883” they will portray James and Margaret Dutton.

They play the couple that set the tone for Duttons living in the American West.

When news broke about their casting, McGraw couldn’t keep his excitement bottled up.

“The Duttons are tremendous characters and it’s so thrilling to be able to bring them to life,” he said in a statement. “As a kid growing up riding horses, you think about dream jobs like this and I am just so excited to work with this amazing cast and crew.”

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan also is the mastermind behind “1883.” He’s quite aware of the challenges facing him, his cast, and his crew.

“Look, this is not going to be an easy or inexpensive show to make,” Sheridan said. “This is going to be epic and huge and I want to tell it in the scope as if I were making a 10-hour movie.”
