Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have had one of the strongest relationships in the music industry for decades. That relationship is only getting stronger on the set of 1883.

If you haven’t heard by now, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are starring in 1883 — the prequel spin-off to Paramount Network’s hit show Yellowstone. The show will focus on the Dutton family long before they came to control the Yellowstone Ranch. McGraw and Hill will play leading roles in the new series as James and Margaret Dutton.

There’s no denying the love that the country music power couple shares for each other. It has been pretty obvious to see over the last 20 years, but that bond is only getting stronger on the set of Taylor Sheridan’s new show. McGraw talked about he and his wife’s new adventure during a December roundtable interview session with Outsider.

“You know, honestly, I couldn’t imagine it ever happening without her. I couldn’t imagine doing this with anybody else,” he said. “I think the scenario, the writing, the era, everything was so perfect for us together that it was impossible for us to not want to do it together. More than anything I’m grateful that she wanted to do it.”

Let’s not kid ourselves, though. The filming schedule for 1883 isn’t all sunshine and rainbows — it’s hard work and it’s long hours. McGraw is grateful to have his wife by his side during the workday and to go home with her at night.

“You know, we’re working six days a week, 12 hours a day, sometimes longer than that. I wouldn’t be able to go home — if she was home, she’d be in the middle of things that she needed to do, and we wouldn’t be able to see each other.”

Faith Hill Is the Mom on the Set of ‘1883’

This just sounds like typical Faith Hill doesn’t it? We know that McGraw and Hill share three daughters of their own in Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey. During their time as parents, McGraw has learned a lot about his wife. Just like he’s learned a lot from watching her on the set of 1883.

“We get to work together. I learn so much from watching her. She’s done two movies in her career and she’s been great in both. I’ve learned how fantastic she is and what a great actress she is and how generous she is.”

He also confirmed that her motherly instincts are always present, even on set.

“I can tell you this — on set, she is like everyone’s mom. She is the light on set for everybody. And she’s the light in my life for sure. But I’ve gotten to see everybody else experience what I know about her which is pretty spectacular.”
